About Us
A KPN company | Mission | Locations | People | Values | Management Team
Talk & Vision is one of Europe’s leading providers of worldwide visual communication services. Founded in 1998, the company set out to unlock the potential of richer and more effective digital communication services provided by emerging multi-media technologies. In the last decade, Talk & Vision helped videoconferencing secure itself a prominent role as an enabler of highly effective, cost-saving and carbon-reducing business communication. Today, Talk & Vision offers a comprehensive portfolio of powerful videoconferencing products and services, providing tailor-made visual communication solutions to a rapidly growing worldwide audience of customers across a wide variety of industries.
A KPN company
In 2009, the leading Dutch telco KPN acquired a 64% majority share in Talk & Vision. The merger was the world’s first between a large telco / ICT services company and a specialist provider of visual communication solutions. It provided a perfect framework for integrating the products and services of both companies to achieve new levels of focused, personalized multimedia communication. By leveraging their joint expertise and experience, and by combining their visions and market reach, KPN and Talk & Vision offer their customers a focused approach to achieve better business outcomes and reduce their TCO and carbon footprint.
Our mission
“Talk & Vision provides easy-to-use high-quality visual communication solutions for seamless remote collaboration, enabling our customers to work more efficiently, improve their work/life balance and contribute to a better environment.“
Our locations
Talk & Vision is headquartered in Linschoten, the Netherlands. The head office is the coordination center for our European operations and also houses our multilingual Customer Service Center (CSC). In addition, we have local engineers and sales staff based at our company offices in Darmstadt (Germany), Heverlee (Belgium), London (UK) and also in Linschoten.
Our people
People are the lifeblood of our company. We fully realize that the success of our customers and our company depends on the quality and commitment of our workforce. That’s why we make ongoing investments in developing the expertise of our engineers and consultants. They are regularly trained, tested and certified by leading vendors like Cisco, Polycom and TANDBERG. And since most visual communication solutions are implemented in network environments, our engineers have in-depth knowledge of virtually all types of IP networks.
Our values
The people at Talk & Vision are driven by a common set of values that help us work towards a common goal: delivering best in class solutions to our customers. Commitment is at the heart of all we do. Mutual trust and empowerment create an attitude that will make us go the extra mile. In doing so, we work as one team, across all disciplines and all hierarchical levels. We do our best to be nice to work with, creating a focused yet relaxed atmosphere in our contacts with customers and colleagues alike. And last but not least, we love success. That’s why we foster an entrepreneurial, results-oriented spirit and work hard to get things right the first time.

Joost Deckers, Managing Director
Connectivity and improvement, that's what drives Joost Deckers (1968). For him, Talk & Vision is a company that evokes connectivity: internally, with customers and partners. And that forms the basis for the future. "We will continue investing in those elements that have made our company successful: customer orientation, service, flexibility, quality and innovation. Through cooperation with other KPN subsidiaries, such as Getronics, we can help organisations embed visual communications as a total concept in their operating process. Visual communication plays a key role not only in efficiency improvements and cost savings, but also in concepts like corporate social responsibility and new working practices." Joost Deckers joined the KPN group in 1994. Before his appointment as Managing Director of Talk & Vision, he was director of Gemnet with responsibility for the integration of this ICT service provider within the KPN concern.

Edwin de Lange, Manager Finance After years of experience in specialised control functions in large organisations (including NS Cargo and KPN), Edwin de Lange (1969) opted for a more broad-based financial executive role within a smaller but fast-growing, internationally operating B2B company. "Talk & Vision is the perfect habitat for me as financial. I see how videoconferencing offers our customers a strong business case, while at the same time generating positive effects in terms of both the environment and employees' pleasure in their work. Together with KPN/Getronics, we will strengthen our product range during the coming years in order to further realise our international ambitions." Edwin studied business economics at Erasmus University and recently, as financial change manager, supervised the integration of Getronics within KPN. E-mail: edwindelange@talkandvision.com

Rob van den Boomgaard, Manager Operations As Manager Operations, Rob van den Boomgaard (1973) is responsible for the supply and support of managed services. Rob's reason for working at Talk & Vision is to translate, in close consultation with clients, new technology into workable business solutions. He perceives a clear correlation with his personal life: "As a father, I see how my children are developing and changing. Their abilities and horizon are constantly expanding. The same applies within our industry. With technology developing quickly, clients are expecting more and more from me and my team. My task is to steer that process of growth towards maturity as best as possible." Rob, who has a technical background, made the step towards a management position in 2000. He has since acquired extensive experience in management services, technical architecture, and process & people management, primarily with telecom providers. |

Maarten van Heck, Manager Professional Services Maarten van Heck (1965) is responsible for consultancy activities, portfolio & account management. Before joining Talk & Vision in 2009, he set up and developed the video communications department at KPN/Getronics, after which integration with Talk & Vision was the logical next step. Visual communication has, according to Maarten, become indispensable to the business environment: "It will increasingly form part of the standard workplace, it is truly a new way of life. Key is not what you can do with it, but instead how you use it. Advising on and supporting meaningful, effective and uncomplicated use, without technical glitches - that's the added value that we can offer as Talk & Vision." Maarten studied business informatics at the higher business school in The Hague. E-mail: maartenvanheck@talkandvision.com |
